About CBC

The Beginning

Our Assembly traces its origins to a regular meeting that began in the home of Bill and Karen Baddorf in 2004. The Baddorfs sought an opportunity for believers in the Holly Springs area to gather for worship, prayer, and fellowship with particular emphasis on the expository and comprehensive teaching of the Holy Scriptures. This emphasis was based on their conviction that growth in Christ-likeness and preparation for ministry in general and for evangelism in particular are highly dependent on regular study of the Word. By 2007 the number of believers in this fellowship had exceeded the capacity of the Baddorf home, and the group purchased land and constructed the existing fellowship building.

Our Vision

We seek to be a mature body of believers devoted to study and application of the Word, devoted to a scripturally mandated emphasis on worship, prayer, fellowship, mutual support, and exercise of each member’s spiritual gifts. This emphasis will result in members that exhibit increasing Christ-likeness, sacrificial love for others, and a deep commitment to reaching the lost for Christ.

Community

When Paul and the other New Testament apostles started churches, they started local churches. The book of Acts records that these churches often met in homes and were the bases for outreach to the immediate area—the community. We at Community Bible Church want to serve the Holly Springs community by providing a local assembly where believers can congregate to worship God and to hear His Word proclaimed and taught.

Bible

The expository preaching of the Bible is the primary focus of our church. God’s Word guides our thinking and serves as the sole authority for our decisions and actions. The Bible teaches us how to know God, how to serve God, and how to edify God’s people. Community Bible Church is committed to the systematic, expositional teaching of the Scriptures so that we may understand His will and obey His commands.

Church

What exactly is a church? A church is not a building—it is a group of people. It is a group of people who meet together to worship and serve the Lord. We believe CBC is a church for people like you—people who want to know God and worship Him in “spirit and in truth.” Here is a congregation of people committed to helping you grow in your relationship with Christ. Sincere friendliness, sound Biblical preaching, and Christ-honoring music will make you feel at home at Community Bible Church.
